MyPhilately back on line
As most of you now know the best philatelic site on the net is up and running again. A big thank you is in order to Dan and his team for bringing back to us what, from your many comments, seems to be our second home in the philatelic world.
I will leave this blog open for another week and will close it afterward. Thank you for your participation and see you all at MP.

More news from Dan...
Hi everybody,
Just received an update from Dan which I pass on to you.
"We hope to have a resolution really soon, having rebuilt the server twice it is taking many hours to get all the configurations of the server correct. I could describe the process as rebuilding your house brick by brick."
Keep the faith!!

More good news from Dan....
Hi everybody,
I have just received some more news from Dan and they are encouraging indeed.
I'm copying and pasting part of the message:
"Hope all is well.
The rebuild is taking time, things slowed down around Easter with an uncooperative server host....We have just recovered the 22,000 images which were stored MyPhilately, the entire filesystem and have rebuilt the database. We have hit some issues with the MyPhilately mailserver which is the last piece of the puzzle (and the most complicated)... hope to resolve that issue soon. Thank you for your patience and messages of goodwill."
As you can see, things are progressing. All we need to do is hold together, be patient and our site will be up and running soon.
One suggestion I may have is to start writing articles again and simply save them for when MP is up and running again.
See you all very soon on MyPhilately,
Emeric (Winelover)

EVERYBODY, PLEASE LET'S REGROUP!!!
I have been reading the messages under the different posts and noticed that we are pretty much all over the place.
May I suggest again, that you sign up as a member at the group I have created and by doing so, all members will be united and all members can have access to the members list.
Once MP is back on line the group will be closed, unless you want it otherwise. However, rebuilding a site such as MP will take time and this is why we should be keeping together and in close contact with each other until that joyous day.
Happy collecting,
Emeric

News from Dan
Hi everyone,
I am happy to report that I receive some futher information from Dan.
Here's part of the email I have received not long ago: "The server was experiencing unscheduled shutdowns due to faulty hardware, and it seems as though it shutdown in the middle of the operating system writing to the file system which rendered the whole harddrive corrupt.......It may take a while for the site to be back up due to new IP's etc but maybe this all happened for a reason."
So, as you can see our friend is regrouping and the future of MP seems a little bit brighter, although it means we will have to be patient.
As mentioned in the other posts, keep spreading the word and make sure more and more of us will come to this blog.
I suggest you leave your thoughts to Dan on this post and I will let him know to come and visit us here.
Keep smiling everybody, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

New Group Created
It seems obvious that we are all anxious to re-connect with each other and we need to keep informed until we can know what will happen with MP.
I have just created a new group in order to make it easier for all of us to communicate with each other and to keep MP alive for as long as we can.
Cheers!

The message board
Hi again everybody,
It is nice to see that many of us are slowly showing up and that just about all of us are looking for one another or have specific request.
I will therefore ask all of you to use this specific "post" to leave messages for trying to find a correspondant or reconnect with another member. This way we won't have to leave our messages on any other post.
If you have already left a message to someone on one of the other posts, I suggest you re-write in here and it should facilitate the reunion of lost friends.
I kindly ask you all to follow this so that we don't end up in a maze of messages spread out all over this blog.
Thank you all,
Emeric

It will take time but....
It's nice to see people getting back in touch. It will take time but I'm sure if we spread the word through our individual mailing lists we will be able to keep up until our favorite site is back on line.
I unfortunately don't have Dan's address so if someone does please let him know so he knows what an important thing he created with MyPhilately.
Make sure you sign up to "follow" the blog and any special announcements any of us might have.
Take care everybody,
Emeric

A meeting place until we get our site back
Greetings to all MyPhilately members.
After the unfortunate events that took place over the week-end, I thought it would be a good idea to set up this blog in order to keep us in contact until Dan and his crew can get us back together once again.
The idea here is to share as many email addresses as we can so that we don't loose track of all the friendships we have made over the years at MyPhilately, and to keep in touch with on-going exchanges and trades started on the site.
I will send out emails to those I have an address for and through networking we can reunite as many members as we can.
Welcome to the blog and let's keep in touch.
Emeric (Winelover)
